Open Montessori
Open Montessori is a non-profit organization founded in 2020 to share and extend the pioneering scholarship of Dr. Maria Montessori. We document successful learning materials and methods, design new tools for understanding emerging fields, and publish digital resources freely online in support of hands-on learning initiatives around the world.
Every year we partner with New School Montessori in Lancaster, PA and put on a unique week long workshop for the school. Our 2026 workshop Animation and Storytelling will take place from April 20-24. We will explore how ideas come to life through movement and storytelling. Designed for 7th and 8th graders, the workshop introduces the core principles of animation in a hands-on, creative environment.
